I'll praise you through the storm

For all my lovely Carleton County readers..have you ever been driving in the snow..and it's not too bad, but then it gets worse, not a lot worse, just a bit worse. Gradually, through a lot of
"getting a bit worse", you find yourself in the middle of a blizzard. If only we would have checked the weather we would have known that a blizzard was coming.

This is my life, right now. Things weren't bad, and then suddenly there was a bomb dropped on my family and I and then Sarah's little step-brother died (and even though it doesn't directly affect me, it added to the storm) and gradually through "getting a bit worse" I have found myself in the storm. I'm sinking. Oh boy, am I sinking.

It's been like running, and very gradually adding a grain of wet sand to my shoes. Eventually the shoes are heavy and my running ends up into a half mauled jog. "It is then that I carried you.." That's what I think I need (sometimes what we think we need isn't what we need at all..) gonna get further into the word and maybe then God will carry me, and I wont even notice the sand in my shoes anymore.

Looking up,

Krystle

Feel free to add to the list..casue there are SOOOOOO many!

On a rainy day..I can see Your face in the clouds..

I love how even in the midst of bad things..you can see God..sometimes even more than in a good day. Although I probably wont tell anyone besides those who already know my family has recently found out about a drug addiction of a family member that is very close to us. I will not disclose the name mostly because my dad has always said "Never write down what you don't want others to know" and if this person overcomes their addictions to cocaine and crystal meth I don't want them to be reminded of it daily by people who don't need to know. Honestly though, it's killing me and it's the only reason why I'm blogging my feelings about it. Last Sunday at church I handed it over to God. Marc Belliveau (he's so awesome) was a guest at the Fusion Service and they did a talk show kind of thing where he talked about his life before God. Marc was a messed up guy, into drugs, and drinking. His testimony really gave me faith about the current situation. They gave an altar call, and honestly I can't remember what they called it for. I just knew that I needed to be there.

I love the altar. I love just being able to crawl up on the lap of God and in humility proclaim that there will always be situations in my life that I can't handle on my own, and the ones that I think I am handling on my own..I really am not. Another thing, about this specific trip to the altar that I loved was at church that night I had sat with three kids from youth and it was cool. When I ran to the altar (and yes..I literally ran) I dunno when, but eventually they came down to and prayed for me. Being a youth leader at Moncton Wesleyan, sometimes we just think that we have to uplift the kids 100% of the time. One of the girls hugged me afterwards and said "I'm so glad you're my youth leader"! It was just what I needed at the time.

Anyways, I'm out. I'm attending the wake of a young boy from the Kix program. His step-sister is in my small group. If you read this between now and 2:30pm tomorrow...prayers are necessary.

Ryan Attwood..

Is cute..

But sometimes I wonder why can't he just say NO. Like I understand that guys have this deep down desire to be a knight..but seriously if I was remotly interested in Ryan Attwood..I wouldn't even go after him one bit..the drama is CRAZY!

One thing..if you want to know something about me..I hate drama more than anything in the world! I like a nice life..where everyone does the right thing. People keep their secrets..and no one gossips about one another..People do not break laws..unless it's not wearing their seat belts..

My vent for the day :)

Later Moses says to God, "Now show me your glory."

Which is our way of saying, "I need more. I need something I can see. Something tangible."

God's response? He tells Moses to go stand on a rock, because he's going to pass by. he explains to Moses that no one can see him and live, so he'll cover Moses with his hand (God's hand?) as he passes by, and then hes says, "I will remove my hand and you will see my back."

The ancient rabbis has all sorts of things to say about this passage, but one of the most fascinating things they picked up on is the part about God's back. They argued that in the original Hebrew language, the word back should be understood as a euphemism for "where I just was".

It is as if God is saying, "The best you're going to do, the most you are capable of, is seeing where I...just...was."

Taken from Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell

I was having a discussion last night with an older friend, and I was talking about how my journy to Moncton began a year ago in January. I had given up on the Pentecostal Church I was in..not really getting anything out of the service and left and went to the church of a guy that I thought was cute (no worries all..nothing ever came out of it...nor will anything EVER come out of it..). At first I had left for the wrong reasons. I wasn't satisfied in church anymore, and the boy was cute. The devil meant it for evil, God meant it for good. When I first went to Hartland Wesleyan questions that I had for months were answered. I met the Smiths (who are now super super important in my life) and things were going good. When I finally moved to Moncton I went to the Wesleyan Church first day. The only reason why I went to MW was because I went to a Wesleyan Church back home. By Monday I was invited to a youth leader meeting. By Thursday I had a meeting to become a youth leader. By Friday I was a youth leader. Now looking back on it I can see where God was working....but at the time..I really thought I was just doing my own thing.

I just thought that it was super cool to read about that in this book.

Also, just wondering what you all think about the Trinity. In Velvet Elvis it claims that no where in the bible can you find the word Trinity, and that the word "trinity" was used to explain God being everywhere, and eventually it became a doctorine (Doctorine is a wonderful servant and a horrible master.) What do you think about that?

Excited for learning more about Jesus!
